MitzvahManager Messaging for B'nai Mitzvah Students and Families

MitzvahManager Messaging for B'nai Mitzvah Students and Families

MitzvahManager messaging keeps communication about each student in one organized thread instead of scattered emails. Staff, guardians, and the student can post and reply on a student's message thread, and each message carries a visibility setting that controls who can read it. Messages live inside MitzvahManager, where recipients see them the next time they open the app.

Keep every conversation tied to the student

Each message is attached to a specific student, so the full history of notes, questions, and updates stays in one place rather than spread across inboxes. Staff can post top-level messages, and staff, guardians, and the student can reply, keeping a single record of the conversation on that student.

Control who can see each message

Every message has a visibility setting: Staff Only, Staff & Guardians, or Everyone. Staff can choose any level, guardians can post to Staff Only or Everyone, and students post to Everyone, so sensitive coordination stays private while shared updates reach the family. Those visibility levels line up with the same staff, guardian, and student roles the rest of MitzvahManager uses, which means a cantor comparing notes with the tutor and a parent asking about a lesson time can share one student thread without ever seeing each other's private messages.

Reach families, students, and staff in one place

Messages appear on the dedicated Messages page and on each student's Messages tab, and students and guardians can start a message from a quick compose button. Unread messages are flagged with a badge in the sidebar and a dot on the student tab so nothing gets missed.

Keep an accurate, reviewable record

Authors can edit their own messages, and each edit is kept as revision history with an edited marker, so the thread stays honest. Authors and administrators can remove a message, and staff can filter the Messages page to a single student to review that student's history.

Frequently asked questions

Who can send messages in MitzvahManager?

Staff (administrators and assigned tutors), guardians, and the student can post and reply on a student's message thread, with visibility options that match each person's role.

Can I control who sees a message?

Yes. Each message is set to Staff Only, Staff & Guardians, or Everyone, so you can keep internal coordination private or share updates with the whole family.

Do messages send an email or text message?

Messages are delivered inside MitzvahManager. Recipients see new messages through unread badges and highlights the next time they open the Messages page or the student's Messages tab, rather than by email or SMS.

Can messages be edited or deleted?

Authors can edit their own messages, and every edit is saved as revision history with an edited marker. The author or an administrator can remove a message from the thread.
