A MitzvahManager program is a reusable preparation plan you build once and apply to students preparing for their B'nai Mitzvah. It is an ordered list of milestones — checkpoints such as blessings signed off, Torah passage signed off, or d'var Torah finalized — each with an optional category, an optional due date measured in days before the service, and an optional link to the practice resources that satisfy it. Tutors and administrators start a student's plan from a program so every student follows the same consistent path.
A program is an ordered list of milestones, and each milestone carries a title, a description, and an optional category such as Torah, Haftarah, blessings, prayer leadership, d'var Torah, honors, rehearsal, logistics, or final review. Rather than describing what preparation should look like in an email, you lay out the checkpoints once so every student's plan reads the same way. Those milestones become the backbone of progress tracking: once a program is applied to a student, their status badge and Priority Actions are measured against exactly these checkpoints, so the plan you author is the plan the whole program is judged against.
For a B'nai Mitzvah program, each milestone can carry a target measured in days before the student's service date, so due dates land automatically relative to when the ceremony actually happens. You can also create an Other program type for preparation that is not tied to a service date, where milestones are tracked without date offsets.
A milestone can require a link to practice resources — an assigned Torah or Haftarah passage or a prayer the student is preparing — so the checkpoint is backed by the student's actual work. To move quickly, you can start from built-in milestone presets like Blessings Signed Off, Torah Passage Signed Off, D'var Torah Finalized, and Rehearsal Completed, then adjust them for your community.
