The Student Lifecycle: Status, Wrap Up, and Continuing as a Leyner | MitzvahManager
An administrator controls whether a student is active, paused, completed, or withdrawn. A ceremony date can place the student in the prominent Wrap Up list, but it never changes their status or seat use automatically. Wrap Up records the final decisions and creates a lasting summary while preserving the person, family, programs, services, preparation work, Profile Fields, and History. A student can also continue as an iLeyn external leyner without remaining an active MitzvahManager student.
Active students occupy a MitzvahManager seat and can receive new preparation work. Paused students remain in the Current workspace without occupying a seat or accepting new work. Completed and withdrawn students remain available from Past with their full organization record. Changing a date, Program, or Service never changes this status automatically.
When a student's ceremony has occurred, the student appears in the prominent Wrap Up list until an administrator reviews the record. Wrap Up records the final notes and explicit access choices. It does not silently delete appointments, assignments, messages, Programs, Services, or family relationships.
Wrapping up creates a durable summary of the student's identity, ceremony, tutors, preparation history, and the notes staff want to keep. Staff can return to the summary for institutional history, while the underlying person and canonical History remain intact for authorized corrections and future work.
Completion does not have to end a student's connection to your congregation. During wrap-up, an administrator can keep the student as an iLeyn external leyner, preserving the person while ending the MitzvahManager student role. They can then receive reading opportunities through iLeyn without taking up an active student seat or carrying the preparation data that belonged to their B'nai Mitzvah program.
The Past tab is where staff find completed and withdrawn students, including students with a finalized Wrap Up summary. Keeping Current, Wrap Up, and Past distinct makes it clear who is preparing now, who needs a post-ceremony review, and whose record remains available for the long term.
When an administrator changes the student's status to Completed. A ceremony date adds the student to Wrap Up attention, but does not change status or free a seat by itself.
